IICRC Approves Web-Based Training Program for CECs "Principles and Carpet Cleaning Methods" (PCCM) from Clean Care Seminars April 22nd, 1999
Clean Care Seminars is proud to announce the completion of its first web-based training program entitled, Principles and Carpet Cleaning Methods (PCCM). This comprehensive self-paced alternative training program consists of two chapters, Cleaning Principles and Carpet Cleaning Methods. The program is divided into 57 self-paced training modules, and it qualifies for one IICRC Continuing Education Credit (CEC).
PCCM is the second "web-based" or distance training program approved by the IICRC. It is designed for Internet-active cleaning technicians, especially those in rural market areas or those with multiple technicians to train, who may not have as many CEC educational opportunities available as those in metropolitan areas. According to Lee Pemberton, Alternative Training Task Force Chairperson, "We feel that this course meets or exceeds the rigid standards that the IICRC applies to any approved alternative training program."
The web-based training program was written by 30-year cleaning/restoration author and instructor, Jeff Bishop, who is the Administrator of Clean Care Seminars. The course was developed with assistance from Rajiv Jain of A2Z, Inc., a web-based training specialist, which also developed IICRC's first web-based alternative training program, "A Guide to Oriental Rugs."
Principles and Carpet Cleaning Methods is based on Bishop's popular two-volume book series entitled, More Answers Than You Have Questions About Carpet Cleaning, Volumes I (the Product) and II (the Procedures). Within the 57 modules, the course includes some 75 photos to illustrate carpet cleaning principles and methods. At the end of each module, the student must answer a comprehension quiz to test knowledge retention. Seventy-five percent is required to pass the self-paced course.
Principles and Carpet Cleaning Methods may be accessed at www.CleanCareSeminars.com; click "Home Training" for a free trial. The cost to complete the course for IICRC CECs is $95. Major credit cards (VISA, MC, AMEX) are accepted.
