New CD-ROM-Based Training Course Cuts Costs and Allows Training to Meet Any Schedule April 9th, 2000
The revolutionary new "Carpet Cleaning Workshop For Technicians", developed by veteran trainer and cleaning expert Lee Pemberton, is an interactive, computer-based training program designed to be used in-house for training new employees and as a refresher course for existing employees. Effective and simple to use, the training takes place at the cleaning company's own location on the companyıs own time schedule.
In addition to being an intensive, low-investment and time efficient training method, computer-based training offers a number of benefits to companies who have to fit training into an already over-maxed schedule. It provides rapid training results, taking just a few hours per session. New employees can be trained quickly.
With turnover and company expansion, training employees becomes a major expense. The low per-person cost of in-house, computer-based training allows companies to keep employees up to date on proper cleaning methods and train new employees for a fraction of the cost of most other methods currently being used. Itıs ideal for new business startup training.
The workshop is designed to help technicians improve their cleaning results, solve most problems before they occur, reduce physical and mental wear and tear, and make their customers happier.
The course consists of 12 PowerPoint-based sessions on a CD-ROM which are voice narrated. It also includes an 89-page Leader's Guide to assist the in-house trainer (company owner or supervisor) in guiding the technician through the program in an effective and time efficient manner. A 60-page Technician's Workbook includes pre-work assignments as well as reviews at the end of each session to maximize learning. Comprehensive, hands-on demonstration are also provided.
The training is completely "process" focused rather than "science" focused. Process training stresses "what to do" and "how to do it", whereas science training, as used in the certification courses, also stresses "why you do it", and goes into greater detail, which can be learned at a later time.
The training also gives special attention to the technician's responsibilities, both personal and professional. The cleaning process is covered thoroughly, including the use of performance aids that really help the technician. The equipment and tools, the cleaning agents, and the procedures used as a part of the "process" are covered in an easy to follow and remember format.
Technicians who pass the course earn two required IICRC CECs.
