IICRC MoU Spotlight

What is an MoU?  An MoU is a Memorandum of Understanding. The IICRC forms strategic partnerships through the use of MoUs with organizations that lead to the Institute’s standards and certifications use in other industries. MoUs also expand the global reach and value of the Institute by fostering long-term relationships in other countries with organizations that share our mission and values.

As part of an ongoing series, the Institute will highlight a new MoU in each issue of the IICRCToday. Who’s up this month? The National Wood Flooring Association, aka the NWFA.

National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA)

Chairman: Jeff Fairbanks
President & CEO: Michael Martin

What is the NWFA?/What is your mission?

The National Wood Flooring Association is an international not-for-profit trade association for wood flooring professionals. Our mission is to promote the use of wood flooring in residential, educational and commercial environments, and provide members with the knowledge and training necessary for success.

Who is the NWFA’s audience/stakeholders?

The NWFA represents the entire wood flooring supply chain, from the forest owner to the installer and everyone in between.  Our members are companies, and can include large, multinational manufacturers, as well as small mom-and-pop businesses.

What are three things the NWFA is working on in the upcoming year?
1.     Developing an on-line university to provide educational opportunities for the wood flooring industry.
2.   Expanding our hands-on training and certification programs to provide more regional events, while increasing scholarship opportunities for attendees.
3.   Review and revise all NWFA technical publications to provide expertise on the most up-to-date technology and product developments.
