International Updates

IICRC Asia Pacific
IICRC Asia Pacific partnered with the Specialised Cleaning and Restoration Industry Association (SCRIA) to participate in the CleanScene show. This partnership with SCRIA is important for IICRC as SCRIA is a trade association for cleaners and restorers in Australia.

CleanScene is the only industry-run cleaning trade event and the show is the premier cleaning and hygiene event in Australia. Hundreds of trade professionals attended the show, and many registrants visited the IICRC Asia Pacific stand to collect their CECs and check their registrant details. The Certified Firm program attracted a lot of attention and the Asia Pacific office is looking forward to welcoming some new firms soon!

But, the team didn’t get to sit back and relax, as the AusClean show was shortly thereafter in Melbourne! This sharp one-day event was held on the 14th October at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and was co-located with the Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare (IHHC) Conference. It was an opportunity for attendees to visit both events to see the latest products and services including innovative solutions for the industry.

IICRC Europe
The administration team at the European IICRC office is continuing to develop their systems and procedures, working towards becoming increasingly independent from the head office.

The European office now has the ability to process examinations and membership renewals. The ability to handle these operations here in the UK will ensure that IICRC provides a faster response to registrants who have taken examinations, registrant renewals and Certified Firm applications.

Following several early morning phone calls, the European administration team is now working with a new data management system that is already delivering efficiencies and will further improve customer service. A big thank you to the Asia Pacific office and Jenny Boymal for your time and effort in helping us to get started.

Steve Hodgson, CEO of The Property Care Association, recently attended the IICRC Board meetings in Vancouver, Wash. During his visit, he provided updates on the progress the IICRC Europe office has seen over the last eight months and led discussions on how to further improve the benefits and services delivered.

We hope to host a second instructors’ meeting in the UK this year. This will ensure that our key stakeholders are aware of the progress being made by the admin team and allow them to further contribute to the future success of the IICRC in the UK and Europe.

The IICRC Japan office will be exhibiting at the following upcoming trade shows:

•    Building Maintenance tradeshow in Nagoya Oct.15 – 16
•    JAPANTEX 2014 in Tokyo Nov.12 to 14 (will have a booth with Japan Carpet Manufacture Association)
