Q. When were you first elected to the Board of Directors?
    A. I was first elected in 1998.
Q. What position(s) do you hold on the Board?
    A. I am a Past Chairman of the Board.
Q. What is your shareholder affiliation?
    A. My shareholder affiliation is Association – NCCA (National Carpet Cleaners Association) in the UK.
Q. What committees with The Clean Trust do you chair or participate?
    A. As Chairman, I oversee all committees. I also instruct in CCT (Carpet Cleaning Technician), CCMT (Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician), and UFT (Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician).
Q. What are your Clean Trust Certifications?
    A. I am IICRC Certified in CCT (Carpet Cleaning Technician), CCMT (Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician), UFT (Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning), LCT (Leather Cleaning Technician), RCT (Rug Cleaning Technician), WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician), OCT (Odor Control Technician), FCT (Floor Care Technician), SMT (Stone, Masonry, & Tile Care Technician), CRT (Color Repair Technician), RRT (Carpet Repair and Reinstallation), and SCI (Carpet Inspector Course).
Q. What is your "day job" and how long have you been doing it?
    A. I am a cleaning consultant, advising people how to maintain their soft furnishings both at high end and commercial properties; I also carry out carpet inspections for both the IICRC and Woolsafe. On top of that, I instruct 3 certification courses along with several related cleaning programs.
Q. What other industry organizations are you active, what do you do for them and how could this benefit The Clean Trust?
    A. Apart from being Technical Director of the NCCA and Co. Secretary, I am a director and past Chair of the British Cleaning Council – an organization made up of associations, suppliers, manufacturers and interested parties involved in the cleaning industry within the UK. One of our key functions is the organization of a bi-annual Cleaning Show; we are also active in working with government entities.
Q. What are your hobbies/interests outside the industry that you would like to share?
    A. I enjoy photography, my grandchildren, and collecting and reading books on rugs, textiles and the cleaning industry.
Q. Please tell us about any awards or professional recognition received during your experience in the cleaning, restoration and inspection industry.
    A. Some awards/recognition I’ve received include: IICRC Favorite International Instructor, NCCA Alan Vaughn Award, and My Wife Sandra.
Q. What do you personally wish to contribute to The Clean Trust during your term?
    A. I wish to create harmony, transparency and good open communication across cultures.
Q. What areas of expertise do you have that would be beneficial to The Clean Trust?
    A. I have 35 plus years in the cleaning industry – 25 of those assisting in association management – and a good listening ear.
