Seven Easy Ways to Grow Your Certified Firm

Tired of seeing your competitor’s name on the first page of Google search results? Ready to take your floor cleaning or restoration business to the next level? To help organizations grow their business, the IICRC is offering seven strategies for successfully marketing your Certified Firm.

“Whether you work in the residential or commercial sector, marketing plays an important role in growing your business,” said Tony Wheelwright, IICRC Chairman. “By following a few best practices, you can substantially increase awareness for your company and generate more interest in your services.”

Important marketing strategies to help you grow your Firm include:

1.    Establish an online presence.
In this age of the Internet, it is important for any business to have a strong online presence. A good website is the face of your organization. Updating it with interesting and relevant content regularly will help you position your Firm as a leader. It is also important to connect with customers and prospects via social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and others. The more ways you connect with customers and prospects online, the easier it is for them to find you.
2.    Understand Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Many small business owners overlook the value of a strong web presence and how it can be an effective way to gain new customers. Learning how to navigate the world of SEO and improving your website’s Google ranking can be the single most effective way to drive sales.

3.    Market your successes.

Did you do great work for a customer? Tell people about it! Post before and after pictures on your Firm’s website and social media profiles, and ask your customers to post a positive review on Yelp!, Angie’s List or Google+ Local page.

4.    Network.
Everyone is a potential customer, so get involved with your local community. Whether it be a local professional networking group, chamber of commerce event or through volunteer work, it is important to meet people, hand out business cards and maintain relationships with everyone you meet.

5.    Position yourself as an expert.
Being seen as an expert builds trust and confidence with customers and prospects.  Develop a blog that offers customers valuable information about floor cleaning or restoration, and share best practices regularly via your LinkedIn profile. Offer to speak at local events and position yourself as an expert resource on cleaning, restoration and inspection with local media contacts.

6.    Step up when your expertise is needed most.
If an event such as a flood, hurricane, wildfire or tornado happens within your area, educate your community on the importance of hiring trustworthy and reliable companies to help them rebuild. Help your community by handing out flyers or quick-reference guides on cleaning up after a flood, or host a free class at your facility on how to properly dry out a carpet.

No matter what type of facility your Firm caters to, marketing can be your best asset when it comes to growing your company.
