IICRC Spotlight

John C. Sobeck, President/Owner
First General, Wilkes-Barre, Penn.

How did you land in this industry?

I started in this industry as a new home builder and remodeler in 1968 and moved into restoration in 1981.

How are you involved with the IICRC?
We take pride in making sure our employees are educated and certified through the IICRC.

What do you do to market your business?

First General’s focus has been quality workmanship and offering full-service construction and contents restoration. Our state-of-the-art facility and equipment can help to restore rather than replace – saving both time and money!

If you could give one piece of advice to a young professional starting out in the business, what would it be?
I would tell a young professional to be honest and always go above and beyond to assure customer satisfaction.

What do you like best about your job?
I like having the ability to restore items that property owners thought could never be saved.

What is the most rewarding thing about owning a cleaning and restoration business?
The most rewarding thing for me is being able to see a project from start to finish and having the ability to return the property back to pre-loss condition.
