December MoU Spotlight

IICRC MoU Spotlight

What is an MoU?  An MoU is a Memorandum of Understanding. The IICRC forms strategic partnerships through the use of MoUs with organizations that lead to the Institute’s standards and certifications use in other industries. MoUs also expand the global reach and value of the Institute by fostering long-term relationships in other countries with organizations that share our mission and values.

As part of an ongoing series, the Institute will highlight a new MoU in each issue of the IICRCToday. Who’s up this month? The National Air Duct Cleaners Association, aka NADCA.

National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA)
Executive Director: Jodi Araujo, Certified Exhibition Manager (CEM)

What is NADCA and what is your mission?
The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) is a nonprofit organization made up of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry professionals, including air systems cleaning specialists, mold remediators and HVAC inspectors.

The association is dedicated to upholding industry standards for the assessment, cleaning and restoration of air-handling systems and is committed to providing continuous training and education to technicians in the field.

What is NADCA working on for 2015?
NADCA recently launched the Dryer Exhaust Duct Performance (DEDP) Standard, a detailed checklist of performance measurements designed to ensure a residential single-dryer exhaust duct system is operating properly and efficiently.

The Standard was designed to help contractors obtain reliable information and measurable outcomes that make identifying conditions that may be causing dryer exhaust duct performance failure easier to diagnose. Using the Standard for assessing the performance can help decrease energy usage and drying times.
