How long have you been in the industry? Involved with IICRC?
I have been in the industry now for more than 20 years and involved with IICRC since 1997.

What do you do to market your business?
Within the restoration business, it is very important to market as it is very competitive. Commercial & Domestic Restorations markets in various ways which include being members of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters. They promote our company in their yearly diary with a full size advertisement. We also conduct regular mailings that provide customers and prospects with company updates so we can keep our name and services top of mind for them. Commercial & Domestic Restorations are also proud sponsors and regularly make donations to industry events.

How has your business been impacted by the wildfires?

We have had an infiltration of work, more than 100 new jobs. Each one was assessed based on urgency, and all of them were booked and proceeded within a timely manner.

Dec 2013 IICRC International Spotlight Corey TuhakaWhat tips would you recommend for other Certified Firms that experience a surge in business after a natural disaster?
I would recommend others take a usual business approach to the influx of new business and try not to get overwhelmed. Also, split up your business team up with casual staff/labour hire and proceed with work as if it was business as per usual.

What is your favorite food?
Seafood

If you could invent the perfect cleaning product or machine, what would it do?
I would invent a fitting that attaches to a carpet cleaning machine that could also decontaminate a fire and smoke damaged structure.
