Chairman's Corner – Recap of Summer/Fall BOD Meeting

The IICRC Board of Directors met in July, for the first time, in our newly purchased building in Las Vegas and again in late-October in Vancouver WA. With many anticipated improvements on the horizon, the Board had a full agenda during both meetings.

Some of these projects that now have the Board’s approval to proceed are to publish our own peer reviewed Technical Journal early next year. Another is to design and adapt our new building in Vegas into a true Global Resource Center. This may include a museum, document library to archive our history, a conference center and general office space. Please let us know if you have any historical items that you’d be willing to donate.

During the two-day session, the Board also approved researching updates for all IICRC technology to allow us to be more efficient and nimble, in addition to making computer based training for certification a reality among other advancements. We were also pleased to welcome visitors from the University of Nevada and also from a Canadian Technical College. Both are interested in collaborating with us on some Technical Courses.

We are continuing to reach out to our industry partners and to explore ways of working more closely with them. We are also reaching out to those in the scientific community that do research relevant to our industry.
